The incident occurred during a match on January 24 at Pittodrie, where Aberdeen won 6-2. Both players were sent off in the 70th minute after a confrontation.

Livingston later filed a complaint with the SFA compliance officer, prompting an inquiry. The then-Livingston manager David Martindale revealed after the game that the 37-year-old Bokila was left in tears in the dressing room over a comment made to him on the pitch.

Former Democratic Republic of Congo international Bokila and Milne were dismissed following a melee between the two teams.

Aberdeen released a statement on their website, saying: “Throughout this process, Jack has consistently and vehemently denied the allegation made against him and the club has continued to support him during what has been a very difficult and distressing period for all involved.

“It goes without saying that Aberdeen FC condemns all forms of racism and discrimination unequivocally.

“The club now considers this matter closed and will make no further comment.”
