The two pairs have now won eight titles between them this season — four each — with the Spanish women stringing their triumphs together in consecutive fashion. For Chingotto and Galán, the victory in Asunción not only adds to their growing momentum but also extends their lead in the Race standings, doubling the number of wins of their rivals Coello and Tapia.
While the “Golden Boys” have failed to lift a trophy since March in Cancún, electing to skip the Newgiza event for another year, the Madrid-born Galán and Olavarría native Chingotto have seized the opportunity. In Sunday’s final, they dispatched their opponents in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) with superior numbers across the board: 21 winners against 16, just six unforced errors compared to eight, and eight smashes versus six. The second set required a 12th game before they sealed the 7-5, confirming they are in prime condition to challenge for everything through 2026.
On the women’s side, Triay and Brea were playing their 11th consecutive final, hoping to avoid a fourth defeat against the Málaga and Extremadura duo. They started strongly, taking the first set 6-4. But Paula and Bea once again rallied, capturing two sets 6-3 to claim the Asunción title and prove that joining forces at the end of last season was the right move.
