On Sunday, May 10, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Stade Brestois in Ligue 1’s 33rd matchday. In a tightly contested game marked by several stoppages, the capital side relied on Désiré Doué to secure the victory (1-0).

PARC DES PRINCES – Under heavy rain, Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Brestois took to the pitch on Sunday evening. Well-contained by their opponents, the home team had to push hard to claim the win (1-0).

Attempts…

With the stadium buzzing and already soaked, the Parisians started the match with intensity. They looked to threaten through wide attacks while maintaining possession. Brest, however, showed solid resistance despite occasional struggles.

The Pirates even managed to create danger down the right flank, but after that scare, PSG regained control.

Dro Fernández had his chances, and Lee Kang-in tested Grégoire Coudert within the first 20 minutes. Fabián Ruiz also tried his luck, but without success.

Brest’s best spell came around the half-hour mark. They attempted several shots but failed to find the net. Junior Dina Ebimbe, for instance, put pressure on Renato Marin.

The rhythm was disrupted by a technical issue with the referee’s equipment. The rain was so heavy that Jérôme Brissard lost communication through his earpiece, causing a seven-minute pause.

PSG regained the initiative afterward, but the score remained 0-0 at halftime.

…and the breakthrough, signed by Doué

Upon returning from the locker room, fans lit flares, and the match was stopped again until the smoke cleared. After the restart, the Parisians continued to face a resilient Brest defense.

The introduction of Désiré Doué injected more energy into the attack. Later (around the hour mark), Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also came on to try to decide the game.

Senny Mayulu came close to opening the scoring in the 69th minute, but his shot hit the crossbar.

Chances piled up until the end. Finally, Doué made his mark in his 100th appearance, firing a powerful low shot into the net.

Thanks to his contribution, Paris took a giant step toward the title before visiting Lens on Wednesday. Brest finished 12th.
